More Information about the Product

This release has a minor update to the overall bundle. Included now is a game called Word Gallows Lite which contains over 200 common diabetic words to be used in a guessing game, similar to Hangman. Learn new words and/or definitions of words that you will encounter while managing your diabetes.

This bundle is 4 separate program (3 Palm, 1 Desktop) that will allow you to easily and effectively manage your diabetes. The first program "My Blood Glucose Log" (link to trial version) allows you to easily record your blood glucose values from your self-test kit. Along with each entry, you can record the date/time the event occurred, such as Pre-meal, exercise etc, as well as any medication you may have taken. View the results and find the average. Obtain a report of your Glucose readings displaying your minimum, maximum, average and an Estimated A1C that can be saved and/or emailed to your Doctor. You can export the data to your Palm's MemoPad as a CSV file. You may also enter personal information such as Name, Address, Drs Name and Phone, Meds taken and your next Doctors appointment. You may enter 2 different medications each with its own dose. Current features in this release (Build 30) includes:

This software is now released with a Platform Independent Installation program.

If you have a previous version of My Blood Glucose Log, the update to Version 1.9 is free. You can log into your account here to download the latest. Send an email with your HotSync ID to receive your registration code, if using a version earlier than 1.8.

Also included is a Windows Desktop companion program. This companion program allows you to view, print, plot, export and archive your log data. Every time you HotSync, the data entered on your Palm is available on your desktop. Some of the features are:

  • Backup and Restore
  • Filter data by past 7, 30, 60 and 90 days
  • 4 Reports that can be viewed on screen, printed to a printer or to a file
  • 3 Plots (Average Daily Line Chart, Hourly Average Barchart and Range Pie Chart). Plots may now be saved to your local hard drive.

It also allows you to export the data into CSV files, that can be used with Microsoft Excel or into a Microsoft Access database. These options then give you the ability to analyze your data anyway that you desire.

The main interface has been modified to allow easier access to your data quicker. Your next Drs appointment as well as a 90 day Glucose average is displayed on the main screen. The download contains a single setup file (BundleSetup.exe), that will install all programs (Windows and Palm titles). Please note, this is a Windows only installation file.

The Third program "Blood Glucose Converter" (trial download link) gives you the ability to look at your blood glucose readings using different units of measurement. The US standard is milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) and the European standard is millimoles per Liter (mmol/L). Convert your measurement to another.

The unit of measurement you use to describe your Glucose values usually depends upon what county you live in. Milligrams per deciliter (mg/dL) is usually the standard of measurement in the United States, while countries using the metric system use millimoles per liter (mmol/L).

As most diabetics, you measure your blood glucose levels with a home-based unit by picking the tip of a finger. When you have you glucose level checked at a doctor they usually will draw a blood sample from your arm and send it to a lab. The lab will use the plasma portion (the blood minus the cells or the liquid portion). Although, both measurements are accurate, there is a difference of about 12%. Here you can convert your readings and compare them to the lab's result. This will also allow you to determine the accuracy of your meter.

See the links above for Trial versions of the Palm apps.
